Happy Valentine’s Day!
Growing up, I was surrounded by members of the Greatest Generation: my parents, their friends, and our extended family. They were capable and strong, having survived The Great Depression, World War II and the raising of a new generation of children (me included) who came to be called the Baby Boomers. And we thought they would always be around…until they weren’t.
We hardly have any members of the Greatest Generation left. But out in sunny California, there remains one, a Major Bill White. He is a WWII Marine vet, as well as, a survivor of the notorious Battle of Iwo Jima—and he is 104 years young.
Major White has just one request, send him a Valentine. He promises he will save each and every one.
Join me as I send a Valentine to a man who beat the odds by staying alive during one of the worst battles during the war, and has gone on to beat the odds of aging, and living past 100 hundred years. Do it to make this a bright Valentine’s Day for him. Do it in the memory of a beloved member of The Greatest Generation. Or just do it as a good deed, I promise you will feel better for it!
Send Valentines here:
