What mysteries are contained in a lady’s trunk that is a time capsule from another century? Jillian, a genealogist, is thrilled to be the one to open it and examine the contents. Included inside are pristine clothing, important papers and other personal treasures. Those things send her on a quest to understand the owner, Lynnelle Bendeure; what everything means; and why her trunk was left behind.
As she pieces together the past, she finds Lynnelle’s life had been in danger, her money was used to buy a large ranch, and she seemed to vanish into thin air. A hornet’s nest erupts when Jillian investigates the current ranch owners. She is ordered to stay away by a furiously angry woman named Min, but in the process, she meets Drew.
This great tale seamlessly goes back and forth between the story in the past and Jillian’s current time period. Told from a Christian viewpoint, you won’t want to put this clean story down until you get to the last page. I recommend this 5-star book that contains family secrets along with adventure, mystery and a hint of romance.
