Illustrated by Mike Wohnoutka
I’m Sorry!
Saying you are sorry is never easy—and that is true for those of us who have experienced it. Imagine how hard it is for a little one who has never done it? Although difficult to do, the author teaches how it can be done, especially by children.
First, he stresses that everyone makes mistakes. Because of that, you should seek out the person, and tell them you are sorry. Do this even if you don’t like the person, or they should apologize to you.
Be sincere, don’t make excuses. The author gives examples of how NOT to apologize, along with the right way.
No matter how long it is, say you are sorry, even if it has been years. It is the right thing to do. Even though it can be hard, both you and the one you say you are sorry to will feel better.
You can even write a note to apologize.
Afterwards, take steps to make sure you don’t do the same mistake again.
This is simply written on a child’s level, but it still gets all the points across and how to do it—this will help a youngster do the right thing.
This is not a downer book, in fact, some of the situations are hilarious. But despite the giggles those times can cause, the subject of apologizing is not lost. It is never too early for a child to learn to apologize, and this 5-star book is just the ticket to teach them how.
This book would be appropriate for children through third grade. Everyone who has ever needed to say, “I’m sorry,” should have this book. I recommend it!
