Ten years earlier, Nikki’s sister Sarah, disappeared, one of a series of victims abducted by a serial killer the media dubbed, “The Angel Abductor.” Her sister was the fifth of six girls that were eventually taken. Despite a herculean effort, no trace of Sarah has ever been found.
Nikki has never given up hope of finding her sister, nor has she ever gotten rid of the guilt of she feels for Sarah’s disappearance. This one-time school teacher changed her career, and went to the police academy. She wanted to devote herself to continuing the search for her sister, and to help other people who have found themselves in this same nightmare.

All these years later, the Angel Abductor seems to be back, and to be responsible for Bridget’s abduction. Now he is using updated methods, and has been stalking her. This grown man connected with Bridget on social media, and has been chatting with her for a couple of months. Posing as a teenage boy, with fake pictures of himself, he had convinced Bridget he was her best friend, and they should meet.
The few leads they have seem to point to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park, as the place Bridget is being held. However, this is an area of thousands of acres of uncharted wilderness. But is this even the correct place, or just another dead end? Time is of the essence because the first forty-eight hours are the most important in cases like this. Will Nikki be able to track this man down and save Bridget? And will she finally get the answers to her sister’s abduction?
Vendetta is the first book in the Nikki Boyd Files, stands on its own, and is told from a Christian viewpoint. This is a fast-paced suspenseful novel, that had a surprising twist towards the end, and will keep readers on the edge of their seats. I recommend this 5-star book to those who enjoy thrilling, real-life story lines.
