Never Give Up!

This movie, All Saints, is based on a true story.

A church is dying and a new pastor, has been sent to inventory the assets, and put the building up for sale.  The small handful of members are devastated this is happening, and their church will be closing.  Pastor Michael Spurlock is not happy that his first role as a minister will be to close a church.

Just as all of this is happening, a hundred Karen refugees show up at All Saints’ Episcopal Church.  They are starving, have no place to stay, and only one of their group speaks English.  But Episcopal missionaries in their homeland of Burma had ministered to them.  Because of that, they were familiar with the church, and sought them out for help.

Can a few senior citizens, a brand-new pastor, and a church on the brink of closing its doors possibly help these needy people?

While trying to help, they deal with hardships, disappointments, and obstacles–including disapproval from the denomination.  But the film also shows miracles that took place along the way, as well as, the message Pastor Spurlock believed God gave him to help the people.  Things do not work out the way you think they will, but it is a good ending none- the-less.

This is a heart-warming film that is clean with no adult situations.  It will be entertaining for both adults, and children aged at least ten and up. There is nothing that would be offensive for children in this.  But, I think, the story-line would appeal to adults and older youth.  I highly recommend this 5-popcorn (5-star) movie for a fun night, with a feel-good story.
